Slowly distilled by Iceland-based Brunnur Distillery using geothermal water, this London dry is made using artic thyme and angelica flowers. Himbrimi derives its name from the Icelandic word for the common loon, which translates to "heaven howler.” The same loon is featured on the bottle. Himbrimi Winterbird London Dry is bottled at 40% ABV and typically priced at $40, though it can be tricky to find in stock at just any neighborhood liquor store.
Zesty and packed with pepper, faint lime and bold juniper. It’s not wildly diverse on the nose, but what’s there sings London Dry all day.
Rich on the palate, great viscosity and texture. Light on the ethanol. Heavy juniper, light confectioners sugar, faint sesame, slate, lemon and a touch of honey.
Long finish, juniper dominant once again with just a touch of citrus and sweetness.
It’s a killer dry gin with no shortage of flavor. If you can find it, Himbrimi is a winner for sure.
