Ginvitational Day 18! Produced with an additional ingredient - limes - this gin from Four Pillars is bottled at an elevated proof. This is the 2019 release and it is bottled at 58.8% ABV. Let's get to it.
Really bright and fragrant - tons of juniper, lemon peel, faint anise, sweet lime zest.
Sweet and rich on the palate. Really supply mouth feel, coats the palate really nicely. First there is some malt and a roasted corn note that quickly gives way to pepper, sourdough bread, sweet cream and icing and some coriander. Really really nice.
Long but searing and hot. The complexity of the palate is almost lost on how hot the finish is firing off, though there is a lovely balance of pepper and lemon curd.
The nose and palate are delightful, but there is some lost momentum in the finish.
