  • Intro:

Edinburgh's Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, with an ABV of 40%, offers a fuller-bodied expression of the Scottish brand's original Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur. Infused with spring crop rhubarb, lemongrass, mulberry and stem ginger, this gin boasts a fruity tang and a healthy dose of spice.

  • Nose:

Sweet, but you can smell that classic Edinburgh profile popping through on the nose. Notes of ginger, honey, rhubarb, berries and a punch of ginger once more pops through.

  • Taste:

Sweet but not cloying; viscous but not syrupy or fake. Ginger and juniper pop most deliberately, while gentle sweetness and the fruit and rhubarb character peek through. It’s sweet, and you can tell it’s sweetened, but it’s not cloying, fake, etc.

  • Finish:

Long finish, pleasant and heavy on the juniper, ginger and pepper.

  • Overall:

This release works really nicely, full of gin character, ginger and a touch of sweetness and rhubarb. Flavored gins aren’t for everyone, but this is among the best I’ve tried that contains added sugar.
